I talk about this way too much but I cannot stress how much I adore Franklin’s love for Peter. This was the panel I talked about a few weeks ago when mentioning it.

I don’t know it’s like…Franklin struggled for a long time with not fitting in with his super family (even though he is like, crazy powerful). Even Valeria has shadows over him. But I bet at night he takes out his Spider-Man action figure and repeats “With great power comes great responsibility” to himself over and over until he feels better. And it is sad because life pretty much shits on Pete, and here’s this little kid who just loves him to pieces. It’s difficult for me to put into words but I just love it. He really loves Pete and aspires to be like him. Frankie spent most of his childhood wanting to grow up to be like him! He never aspired to be fun-loving Johnny, or grumbly-but-loveable Ben, or a super-genius like his father…he just wanted to be Spider-Man; a guy on the streets just determined to do the right thing. I am just fascinated with how everyone hates Spider-Man, they condemn him and even when he’s saving lives he is frowned upon, but here is this one kid who comes from an entire family of supers who is absolutely enthralled with this guy. I don’t know it’s just interesting to see how intertwined all these characters are and how they all respect each other in different ways.
